Dulcimer Christmas Poem
Playing Your Dulcimer This Christmas
By Jeffrey A Lambert

Twas the season of Christmas
Music in the air
I longed to be part
Of this melodious affair.

I uncovered her gently
Wiped the dust from each string
Adjusted and tuned
Angelic was her ring.

I cradled her body
Across my quivering knees
Placed my noter ever so gently
And strummed with such ease

The music was sweet
I played each note with care
I was genuinely surprised
I could not believe my ear

First Silent Night
Then We Three Kings
Each song of Christmas
Sweet memories they bring

Then Jingle Bells
And The First Noel
I tapped my foot
I was "ringing the bell"

Twas the season of Christmas
Music in the air
I was now truly part
Of this melodious affair.

My dulcimer was old
She had been well used
But gently and tenderly
She performed like brand new

So, let me encourage
No, let me insist
Please dust off that dulcimer
No longer resist

Fine that old noter,
Search out that lost pick
Dust off the tablature
It's Christmas, do it quick!

With a little practice
Christmas magic you'll enjoy
"Sweet Music" dear friend
On your dulcimer once more!

Merry Christmas!
